Teaching and research interests:

I have investigated the relationship between uniform and quasi-uniform spaces on the one hand, and ordered and bitopological spaces on the other. This connects naturally with the study of biframes with quasi-uniform structures, and questions of completion and compactification related to these.

Teaching honours and masters courses in topology has proved to be a stimulating part of my research work. I enjoy teaching mathematics to first-year students, and am interested in developing effective teaching methods appropriate to large undergraduate courses.
